PURPOSE: A rechargeable battery is provided to secure stability and reliability even in the environment where the pressure is applied by crush or impact. CONSTITUTION: A rechargeable battery(100) comprises: an electrode assembly(10) including a first electrode plate(11), a second electrode plate(12) and a separator(13) interposed between the first and second electrode plates; a case(34) accommodating the electrode assembly; and short induction members(50,60) which are electrically connected to the first and second electrode plates of the electrode assembly and induces the short within the case.
