A computer system 100 comprises a processor-executable contextual correlation engine 168, which monitors an instance of a workflow for user behaviour and interaction with the system. The engine then creates or updates token(s) 180 which contains a reference, the reference reflecting the information accessed by the user during the workflow (such as webpages, files or e-mail messages) and the context in which it is accessed, which may include display arrangements and window placement. When a new instance of the workflow is initiated, or is expected to be initiated, by the user, the engine retrieves the token and uses the stored reference to retrieve the information and display it to the user. This enables the user to access information relevant to the workflow without having to engage in searching for it. The token may include authentication information, or rules and policies controlling the display of the information, such as specifying a subset of communication nodes, for example a desktop PC or a mobile device, which will display the information.
