A lithium titanate product, the formula of which is in the form of LixTiyOz, and wherein y is 1, the x:y molar is 1.1-1.8, while the z:y molar ratio is 2.0-4.5. Also disclosed is a method of preparing alkali metal titanates, such as lithium titanate, at a low temperature of below 100° C., from an aqueous titanium-containing slurry and an alkali metal compound. |
