In the present invention, there is disclosed a device for producing a mineral wool nonwoven fabric, comprising a drop shaft (10) and fiberizing devices (26a, 26b) in addition to a conveyor device (16) for the conveyance of mineral wool nonwoven fabric (24). A device (34) is also provided to separate the strip of primary nonwoven fabric into a first section (38) and a second section (40) in a longitudinal direction. The conveyor device (16) is capable to convey said first blanket section (38) in such a way that it is placed on the second blanket section (40) in order to form a secondary nonwoven fabric (52) wherein the transport path of said first blanket section (38) differs from the transport path of said second blanket section (40). The width of the drop shaft (10) is the double width of the secondary nonwoven fabric (52). A transport means (46, 48, 58) for inverting the first blanket section (38) comprises an inverting roller (46) serving as a guide for the first blanket section (38) wherein the first blanket section (38) is inverted such that the underside of said first blanket section (38) is located upwards wherein each of said at least one fiberizing devices (26a, 26b) makes the primary mineral wool nonwoven fabric (24) forming two layers in said secondary nonwoven fabric (52).
