A digital television signal receiver comprising a tuner, a demultiplexer for selecting data packets corresponding to one or more programs and a digital interface for deleting from the selected data packets unnecessary supplementary data which does not relate to the selected programs and for transmitting video data, audio data and supplementary data relating to the one or more programs to an external device such as a digital storage device.
