A floor mounted security door brace is provided to prevent opening of the door. The security door brace comprises a detachable door stop 20 having at least one protruding pin 80 of elongate cross section which locates in a slot 90 of a mounting plate 30 which includes means, such as screw holes, for securing the mounting plate to a floor. Preferably the brace includes a slotted handle 60, a longitudinal grooved grip 70 and rubber buffer (100, fig.3).
