FIELD: process engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biological treatment of effluents. Effluents flow 1 with preprocessed and averaged organic substances is fed into membrane separation vessel 4 with active sludge for biological treatment. Sludge load is corrected by BOD so that said load does not exceed BOD. Solid and liquid phases of mix with active sludge are separated in vessel 4 by separation membrane assembly 5. Filtrate is pumped from vessel 4 by pump 8 into sterilisation tank 10. Excess active sludge is forced from vessel 4 by pump 12.
