PURPOSE: An image pickup apparatus, a solid-state imaging device, and an image generating method are provided to apply to an image pickup apparatus with a plurality of aspect modes. CONSTITUTION: A digital camera includes a CCD(Charge Coupled Device) image sensor(11), an analog front end portion(12), an analog to digital converter(13), an LSI(Large-Scale Integration) circuit(14), a buffer memory(15), a liquid crystal monitor(16), a memory card(17), an aspect switching operator(18), a shutter button(19), a timing generator(20) and a CCD driving circuit(21). The CCD is a solid-state imaging device in which a plurality of pixels are arranged in a 2D array. The CCD outputs image data generated with the pixels. The AFE is a kind of amplifier that performs noise canceling processing on the image data output from the CCD. The ADC converts the image data output from the AFE from a signal in analog format into a signal in a digital format. |
