PURPOSE: A composition containing Curcuma longa Linne extract for preventing and treating influenza viral infection is provided to suppress neuraminidase activity and to ensure viricidal activity. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating influenza viral infection contains Curcuma longa Linne or Curcuma aromatica extract or fraction thereof as an active ingredient. The extract is isolated using water, alcohol of C1-C4, or mixture solvent thereof. A food composition for preventing or treating influenza viral infection contains the extract or fraction as an active ingredient. The food composition is meat, sausage, bread, chocolate, candy, snack, noodle, gums, ice cream, soup, teat, or vitamin complex. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating influenza viral infection contains a compound of chemical formula 1 as an active ingredient.
