The method involves determining a reference block (E303) in a reference image for a data block to be coded for digital image. A determined reference block is modified so as to obtain a predictor block by determining (E306) a coefficient from coefficients representing the reference block and associated offset valve, and modifying value of coefficient using the associated offset valve. The block to be coded is coded (105) by using the predictor block.
