PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct deviations in the degree of unit magnification in the sub-scanning direction, when performing rear-surface image formation on a recording paper, when performing two-side image formation on the recording paper by a secondary transfer method which uses an intermediate transfer belt. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes a movement mechanism 200 that moves at least one of a plurality of rollers, across which the intermediate transfer belt 125 is stretched, or a secondary transfer roller 210 and is able to change the pressed state of the intermediate transfer belt 125 by the secondary transfer roller 210, at a nip part N of a driving roller 125a and the secondary transfer roller 210; and a movement mechanism control part 312, that determines a moving amount of the roller by the movement mechanism 200 in accordance with a predetermined shrinkage ratio, and makes the moving mechanism 200 move the roller by a determined moving amount of the roller, when image formation processing is conducted on the rear-surface of the recording paper.
