PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a steering damper device having a structure also including a steering lock mechanism. SOLUTION: The steering damper device includes a vane 75 which divides an oil chamber 74 into two chambers, and is connected to a rotary shaft of a steering 21; and an external oil passage connected to generate a damping force by a hydraulic oil passing through between the two chambers through a hydraulic control valve 68 during swing of the vane 75 by rotation of the steering 21. The steering damper device further includes an oil passage open/close unit 110 for opening and closing an oil passage return side passage 88 of the hydraulic oil in the external oil passage, and closing the oil passage during turn-off of a vehicle electric power; a steering state detector 111 for detecting a steering state of the steering 21; a vehicle speed detector 210 for detecting a vehicle speed; and a controller 100 for bringing the steering 21 into a lock state by blocking the oil passage return side passage 88 by the oil passage open/close unit 110 when a steering angle detected by the steering state detector 111 is a predetermined value or more, and the vehicle speed detected by the vehicle speed detector 210 is a predetermined value or less.
