PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a segment capable of eliminating waste use of a steel member and including an effective cross section while suppressing time, labor, and cost required for manufacture to the minimum extent to construct a rational structure. SOLUTION: Since a recessed and protruding groove 61 or a protruding bar along a main girder 4 is formed in a skin plate 6, out-of-plane deformation of the skin plate 6 can be suppressed or prevented, substantially the whole area of the skin plate 6 can be included as the effective cross section for bending deformation of the segment 1, and performance of cross section of the main girder 4 can be increased. Consequently, since the effective cross section of the skin plate 6 can be enlarged and flexural rigidity and strength of the segment 1 can be increased without adding a main girder on an intermediate part of a steel shell 2, increase of amount of steel products used, time and labor required for processing, and amount of welding can be prevented and time, labor, and cost required for manufacture can be suppressed to the minimum extent.
