PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic carrier which has high developability even when used in an image forming apparatus where high-speed printing is performed, in which carrier adhesion is hardly caused, from which high-quality images can be obtained over a long period of time, and which suppresses harmful effects of the image such as roughness and voids, and to provide a two-component developer. SOLUTION: The magnetic carrier includes magnetic carrier particles each containing a porous magnetic ferrite core particle and a resin at the least. The magnetic carrier contains the magnetic carrier particles which have≥25.00 and≤55.00μm number-based median diameter and the particle diameter equal to or smaller than a value of 0.8 times of the number-based median diameter, by the ratio of≥10.00 to≤30.00 piece %. A parameterαwhen the frequency-dependent characteristic of the impedance obtained by measuring the AC impedance is fit by a fitting function, is≥0.70 to≤0.95 in 1,000 V/cm electric field.
