The invention relates to a switching logic module (1) which can be electrically and mechanically connected in a detachable manner to I/O modules (2) disposed next to one another, wherein each of the I/O modules comprises at least one electric contact and the mechanical connection can be achieved by means of the electric contacts. According to the invention, a multiplexing logic unit is provided, by means of which the electric contacts of the I/O modules can be cyclically connected to an output (8) of the switching module for a respective predetermined switching time. This provides a space-saving and cost-effective solution which is easy to install and offers high flexibility and with which a plurality of electric signals can be cyclically switched to one output.
