<p>Tissue severing devices and methods as provided in embodiments herein are operable to be inserted through surgical openings and advanced to tissue to be severed. The tissue severing devices comprise a handle, a tube member having a proximal end extending into the handle and a distal end, and a tube member lumen, an inner member having a proximal end extending through the tube member lumen and into the handle and a distal end, and a cutting element including a proximal end and a distal end, the cutting element distal end extending from the inner member distal end, the tube member distal end being operable to move distally over the inner member distal end with the tube lumen operable to receive the cutting element distal end therein, the tube member distal end being operable to move in a proximal direction to expose the cutting element distal end.</p> |
