PURPOSE: A wheelchair is provided to enable disabled persons and the old and weak to conveniently use the wheelchair while freely using both hands. CONSTITUTION: A wheelchair comprises: an inverted pendulum type driving unit(2) including a vehicle body, two wheels combined a vehicle body, and a driving wheel control unit controlling the rotation of the driving wheel; a supporting shaft(3) which is vertically installed on the top of the vehicle body and includes a height control unit; a seat surface unit fixed to the supporting shaft; a backboard unit equipped in one end of the seat surface unit; a seat(4) consisting of a stage unit; an armrest(5); and a control module(6) which controls the drive of the height control unit and inverted pendulum type driving unit.
