<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical rotary joint making it possible to perform optical communication between a rotating body and a fixed body, provide a method of mounting the joint to a supporting structure with the rotating body and the fixed body properly positioned, and provide an improved-type light-reflector assembly used for the joint. <P>SOLUTION: The improved-type joint includes: a light source which makes it possible to perform optical communication between the rotating body and the fixed body, and is mounted to one of the rotating body and the fixed body to transmit an optical signal from an axial line in a radial direction; a first reflector which is mounted to the other of the rotating body and the fixed body to reflect the optical signal from the light source and which includes a first concave reflecting face and in which a line passing the first reflecting face and existing on a plane is constituted as a part of an ellipse having a first and a second focuses, and which is arranged with the first focus coinciding with the axial line; a second reflector which has a second reflecting face constituted as a part of a cone to be arranged in the second focus on the elliptical surface, and which receives reflected light from the first reflecting face to reflect the light in a different direction in accordance with the vertex angle of the second reflecting face; and a light receiver arranged so as to receive reflected light by the second reflecting face. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
