<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device capable of quickly covering a front surface of a front pillar by a pillar cover part at an inflation initial time of an airbag. <P>SOLUTION: This airbag device is mounted in a vehicle disposed with a door mirror 27 in the vicinity of a lower corner on a front side of a side window 14 adjacent to a rear side of the front pillar 1. A bag body 43 of the airbag 42 is folded and stored in a storage portion arranged in the vicinity of a front side of the door mirror 27 and includes the pillar cover part 45 for covering the front surface of the front pillar 1 and a supporting and inflating part 47 arranged on a lower side of the pillar cover part 45. Tether 67 extending from the bag body 43 and having a distal end mounted on the storage portion side extends downward from the vicinity of a boundary portion between the pillar cover part 45 and the supporting and inflating part 47 on a rear face side of the bag body 43. At the completion of inflation of the bag body 43, the supporting and inflating part 47 can be brought into pressure contact with an upper surface side of the door mirror 27. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
