PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventilation parting material that can effectively restrain a wind from blowing in from an outer opening and effectively prevent rainwater from infiltrating out of the outer opening together with the wind to attain high waterproofness. SOLUTION: The ventilation parting material A securing the ventilation between the outdoors and a ventilation space 5 formed between an external wall material 2 and wall backing 4 includes: the outer opening 6 opened on the outdoor side from the external wall material 2; an inner opening 7 opened on the ventilation space 5 side; and a ventilation passage 8 communicating between the outer opening 6 and the inner opening 7. The outer opening 6 is opened downward at the lower face of the ventilation parting material A and protrusively provided with a downward projecting lower projecting piece 19 at the external wall material 2 side edge of the outer opening 6.
