Disclosed is a mobile communication system wherein it is possible to reduce the power consumption in a network node of a local area range. When a local eNB detects a transition trigger in step (ST1503), the local eNB transitions from a normal operation to a power consumption reduction operation (Energy Saving Operation) in step (ST1504). During the Energy Saving Operation, the transmission operation of at least a portion of downlink transmission signals among the downlink transmission signals to be transmitted to a mobile terminal (UE) is stopped, and the reception operation of an uplink transmission signal sent from the UE is performed. Moreover, once it is determined that the uplink transmission signal (RACH) was received during the Energy Saving Operation in step (ST1510), the operation switches to the normal operation in step (ST1511). |
