The method involves transmitting measurement values to a receiver (3) by a transmission device (2) at a time interval. Current measurement values of a measuring device (6) are accumulated as actual values to a transmission value in the transmission device, where the measuring device is connectable to the transmission device. The transmission value and the number of accumulations are transmitted to the receiver by the transmission device in a unidirectional communication and/or are transmitted by the receiver in a bidirectional communication to the order places. An independent claim is also included for a measured value transmitting system comprising a transmission device.
