PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable power saving by quickly informing release operation from a power saving mode by an operation sound. SOLUTION: An operation panel 13 has: a release key 15 for receiving a return operation command to a normal mode by canceling the power saving mode of an image forming apparatus A; a normal operation key 17 for receiving a operation command selecting the function of the image forming apparatus; a sounding body 23 for emitting a key input sound indicating an input of the operation command; and a drive control part 25 for driving and controlling the sounding body 23 on the basis of the operation command. A power supply part 11 supplies power when the operation command of the release key 15 is generated at the drive control part 25 in which the supply of the power is intercepted. A release control part 9 controls the power source supply part 11 to supply and control the power to the drive control part 25 so as to command and control the sound emission of the sounding body 23.
