PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil separator having improved oil separating performance by suppressing the re-scattering of separated oil due to a gas flow. SOLUTION: Inside a housing 13, a gas passage 16 is formed in which oil mist-containing gas flows. An orifice 24 is provided in part of the gas passage 16 for increasing the speed of the gas flow. On the downstream side of the orifice 24, a collision plate 25 is provided on which the gas flow collides. The collision plate 25 has a recessed portion 25a opposed to the orifice 24.
