摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide excellent startability even if the concentration of alcohol in fuel is high in a port injection flexible fuel internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: When the concentration of alcohol is low (including 0%), a start fuel injection period (the amount of fuel injected in starting) is short, and fuel injection is completed in a first injection cylinder in starting an engine before an intake valve is closed, fuel injection is performed from the first injection cylinder. On the other hand, when the concentration of alcohol is high and the start fuel injection period is remarkably long, the fuel injection cannot be completed in the first injection cylinder in starting the engine before the intake valve is closed. Therefore, in this case, the fuel injection is performed from the next cylinder. By such injection control, it is possible to ensure startability suitable for the high concentration of alcohol.
