PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vane pump capable of reducing the noise. SOLUTION: A side surface 410 of a first plate 41 facing a rotor 6 and a vane 7 is formed with: a suction port 43 opened in a suction region, in which the volume of a plurality of pump chambers r is enlarged in response to the rotation of the rotor 6; a discharge port 44 opened in a discharge region, in which the volume of the plurality of pump chambers r is reduced in response to the rotation of a rotor 5; a first back pressure port 45 communicated with a base end part (a back pressure chamber br) of a slit 61 housing a plurality of vanes 7 positioning in the suction region; and a second back pressure port 46, into which the pressure on a discharge side is to be led and which is communicated with a base end part (the back pressure chamber br) of the slit 61 housing the vane 7 of which tip part 70 is positioning on a terminal (a terminal point B) side of the suction port 43. The second back pressure port 46 is provided with a throttle part (a starting end part 462) for limiting a flow rate between a part, into which the pressure on the discharge side is to be led, (a back pressure port body part 468) and the base end part (the back pressure chamber br) of the slit 61.
