Using a database indicating correspondences between d (depth) and ?HcJ (coercivity increase) and a database indicating correspondences between introduced Dy quantities and ?HcJ stored in advance, the distribution of the Dy introduced into a magnet is found from information about the shape and the introduction surface of the magnet (S8), and the distribution of ?HcJ in the magnet is calculated from the distribution of the introduced Dy (S9). For magnets not having a homogeneous coercive force distribution, the calculated ?HcJ distribution is used to calculate a J-H curve (S11 and S12), and the demagnetizing factor at a prescribed temperature (100C) is calculated using a temperature coefficient (S13).
