The present invention provides a method and device for layer shifting in uplink spatial multiplexing. The method for layer shifting in uplink spatial multiplexing includes: determining a codeword-layer mapping scheme and selecting a corresponding layer shifting mode to perform layer shifting based on the determined codeword-layer mapping scheme, wherein in the case of only one codeword, the layer shifting is not performed, and in the other cases, by means of said layer shifting, some data of one codeword is transmitted via the layer of the other codeword.
