The sewing machine (1) has an inward and outward driven needle bar (9) for holding a needle (10) and a support plate (2) for work piece with a needle plate (11). The needle plate has a needle hole for passage of the needle. An inner gripper-bearing part is provided whose bearing-rotational axis coincides with a gripper-rotational axis (21). A bearing-eccentric sleeve is provided which surrounds the gripper-bearing part. An outer, cylindrical bearing sleeve wall of the bearing-eccentric sleeve has a horizontal rotation-symmetry axis which runs parallel to bearing-rotational axis.
