<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of improving display picture quality compared with a conventional device when a fluorescent tube is used as a light source. <P>SOLUTION: Lighting drive on a backlight 3 constituted by use of a fluorescent tube 31 and a line sequence writing drive of a video signal on each pixel 30 in a liquid crystal display panel 2 are synchronized with each other. Thus, generation of so-called 'water fall noise' can be reduced or avoided. The lighting drive is carried out by periodically switching lamp drive signals S1 comprising at least four kinds of AC signals having a phase difference ϕ from one another. This reduces generation of display irregularity in fixed stripes compared with a conventional system, the irregularity caused due to an amplitude difference between a noise component in a positive polarity side and a noise component in a negative polarity side in a video voltage including a noise from the lamp drive signal S1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
