<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush assembly of a vacuum cleaner whose dust separation efficiency is improved and whose pressure loss is reduced though it is compact. <P>SOLUTION: The brush assembly includes a brush unit which is provided with a casing part having contact with a surface to be cleaned and a cyclone dust collection unit one end of which is connected with the brush unit and the other end of which is connected with an extension pipe of the vacuum cleaner. The cyclone dust collection unit is provided with: a cyclone flow passage, which takes in a part of the air discharged from the brush unit and which separates dust in the air by centrifugation; and a bypass flow passage, which immediately transfers the remaining air discharged from the brush unit to the extension pipe.
