PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of surely retracting a peeling claw from the surface of a fixing roller when jamming occurs. SOLUTION: When respective pins 35 and 37 are guided by first and second guide groove parts 33a and 33b and moved, a peeling claw holder 31 is also guided and moved. Accordingly, the peeling claw holder 31 is guided by the first and second guide group parts 33a and 33b and moved. When directional force within a range from vertical to horizontal directions is applied to the peeling claw holder 31 or the peeling claw 15, the peeling claw holder 31 is guided by the first and second guide groove parts 33a and 33b and freely moved within the range from the vertical to horizontal directions, then, the claw tip 15a of the peeling claw 15 is retracted from the surface of the heat roller 11.
