In an image block selection unit (226), an image processing device extracts a plurality of pairs of two image blocks which are located at the same coordinates from both deteriorated images and provisional restored images respectively, and estimates a point spread function (PSF) for each image block pair. A PSF which is considered to be close to a true PSF is selected from the estimated PSFs as a candidate PSF. The calculation volume required for PSF estimation is reduced by carrying out PSF estimation in block units. Additionally, a PSF which is close to the real PSF can be estimated due to the use of an estimation method which is not affected by image blocks containing noise.
