<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fall preventive fence which does not tend to cause the delay of the operation of a train by suppressing a stopping time for which the train stops at a station platform. <P>SOLUTION: This fall preventive fence is installed at a station platform, and includes a movable fence 1 for restricting the passage of passengers which is installed at a position where the movable fence faces the door of a train stopped at the station platform. When the movable fence 1 receives an instruction for closing, a movable strut 12 at the upper limit position on a fixed strut 11 is slid downward. When the movable strut 12 reaches the lower limit position on the fixed strut 11, the sliding of the movable strut 12 downward is stopped (s21-s23). The movable fence 1 notifies the train stopped at the station platform of the permission of the start of the train (s24). Then, the lower side restraining bar 14 of the movable fence 1 at the upper limit position on the movable strut 12 starts to slide downward (s25).
