摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic image forming apparatus which prevents image deletion caused by a discharge product or the like adhering to a photoreceptor when a surface of the photoreceptor is ground even if fluorine content on the photoreceptor changes in a depth direction, and achieves prolongation of the life of the photoreceptor. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus in which the photoreceptor 1 includes a surface protection layer 14 composed of amorphous carbon (or amorphous silicon carbide) containing fluorine includes: a detection means 7 that detects frictional resistance on a surface of the photoreceptor 1; a grinding means (rubbing roller 52) that grinds the surface of the photoreceptor 1; and a control means 8 that changes a grinding condition so as to increase the grinding amount when the frictional resistance detected by the detection means 7 is large, and changes the grinding condition so as to decrease the grinding amount when the frictional resistance is small. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p>
