<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read and reversibly compress apex data through random access. <P>SOLUTION: An attribute-value pair generation unit 1a makes a plurality of kinds of attribute values belonging to image apexes into pairs each of two kinds; a rotation unit 1b sets the attribute value of each pair as a two-dimensional coordinate value, and for each kind of pair determines a rotation angle for making the covariance of the pair to 0, at a plurality of apexes, and rotates the attribute value of each pair by the rotation angle on a two-dimensional plane; a compression processor 1c determines the number of bits required to represent the attribute value on the basis of the maximum value and the minimum value of the attribute value after the rotation, compresses the attribute value into a fixed bit length according to the number of bits, and stores the fixed bit length in a memory 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
