PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attachment structure of an eyelet to a knitted fabric, allowing attachment of an eyelet to a knitted fabric. SOLUTION: A method for attaching an eyelet to a knitted fabric includes piercing a caulking leg part of an eyelet male body into a through-hole formed in the knitted fabric, and caulking fixing the caulking leg part to an eyelet female body on the reverse of the knitted fabric. The through-hole of the knitted fabric is an expanded hole formed by expanding the stitch of the knitted fabric by a stitch diameter expanding tool, and the stitch diameter expanding tool has a conical end, and a base end whose size is larger than the external diameter of the eyelet leg part of the eyelet male body. Furthermore, the method for attaching the eyelet to the knitted fabric includes passing the caulking leg part of the eyelet male body through the expanded hole along the stitch diameter expanding tool in a condition of piercing the stitch diameter expanding tool into the expanded hole, forming a reinforcing part where the knit fiber of the knitted fabric thickens, on the peripheral end of the expanded hole, changing an expanded hole retainer from the stitch diameter expanding tool to the caulking leg, caulking fixing the caulking leg part to the eyelet female body, and pinching and fixing the reinforcing part by the eyelet male body and the eyelet female body.
