PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for enabling a carbon nanofiber without electroconductivity anisotropy to be produced. SOLUTION: The method is such as to be intended for pitch fiber spinning by electrospinning process to extrude a pitch-based material melt via a spinning nozzle against a collector. In this method, as the pitch-based material 1, nonhydrogenated pitch higher than 210°C and lower than 280°C in softening point or hydrogenated pitch higher than 120°C and lower than 250°C in softening point is used; as a melt-extruding nozzle 5, such one having a space into which a gas is introduced into between the spinning nozzle and an outer cylinder, and a preheated gas is fed into the space; in extruding the pitch-based material 1 melt via the spinning nozzle of the melt-extruding nozzle 5, the preheated gas is sprayed against the collector 6 in parallel to the extruding direction.
