PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insect damage-controlling composition for a plant seed, effectively preventing various kinds of the insect damages by being applied to the plant seeds, and to provide a method for preventing the insect damage. SOLUTION: The method for preventing the insect damage includes applying the insect damage-controlling composition for the plant seed, containing at least one kind of an amide derivative represented by general formula (1) (wherein, A is carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, oxidized nitrogen or sulfur; and K is a nonmetallic atomic group forming a cyclic linking group derived from benzene, pyridine, pyrazine, pyridazine, pyrazole, imidazole, oxazole, isoxazole, thiazole, isothiazole, furan, thiophen, oxadiazole, thiodiazole, triazole or the like, with A and two carbon atoms bonded to A) as an active ingredient to the plant seeds.
