<p>A method and system for providing call pickup service in an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) communication network is described. When call pickup is to be invoked, an IMS network node, e.g., a core network node or an application server, receives a Globally Routable User Agent URI (GRUU) associated with one of a plurality of devices which is to be used to pick up a call that is in the process of being placed to another device in a call pickup group. The IMS network node determines whether the one of the plurality of devices is authorized to pick up the call based, at least in part, on the received GRUU. Then, the IMS network node transmits a message to establish the call with that one of the plurality of devices.</p> |
