The disclosed conference support device comprises a speech input unit for inputting statements of a conference attendee, a speech recognition unit for converting speech that has been input from the speech input unit into text, and a rule storage unit for storing rule information for identifying an important statement. An important statement detection unit refers to rule information stored in the rule storage unit and detects an important statement from text converted at the speech recognition unit. In addition, a display unit extracts an item indicating content of the important statement detected at the important statement detection unit, and displays and presents thereof in real time to the conference attendees.
