Disclosed is an alumite membrane filter comprising an aluminum anode oxide film having fine through-holes formed therein, wherein the oxide film contains Al, O and Mg, with the remainder being unavoidable impurities. When the alumite membrane filter is heated, Al2O3 takes a form of a-Al2O3, ?-Al2O3 or a mixture of a-Al2O3 and ?-Al2O3. When the alumite membrane filter is heated, the alumite membrane filter is composed of MgAl2O4.
