The filter material (1) for the purification of fluids, comprises a fluid-transmissive imbedding material (2), where the filter material is assigned to certain shape by different molds. The imbedding material of the filter material consists of mineral, organic, plant and/or plastic- and rubber granulate bodies, where the filter material is moistened with a polyurethane-reaction mixture as a binding agent, and is provided by compressing and hardening into a defined shape as open porous form (4). The filter material (1) for the purification of fluids, comprises a fluid-transmissive imbedding material (2), where the filter material is assigned to certain shape by different molds. The imbedding material of the filter material consists of mineral, organic, plant and/or plastic- and rubber granulate bodies, where the filter material is moistened with a polyurethane-reaction mixture as a binding agent, and is provided by compressing and hardening into a defined shape as open porous form (4). The particle size of the respective imbedding material of the filter material is focused according to the retention requirements of the fluid to be filtered. The composition of the imbedding materials of the filter materials is focused according to the chemical and physical stress, where the imbedding material of the filter material is fat-, oil- and/or dust-free imbedding material and each is moisture-free. The amount of the binding agent is directed as polyurethane-reaction mixture for crosslinking the imbedding material of the filter material according to the particle size, the roughness and the absorbency of the imbedding material. The binding agent of the polyurethane-reaction mixture is homogeneously mixed together in a certain ratio (polyol/crosslinker:diisocyanate). Mixing of the imbedding material and the binding agent is carried out such that the surface area of the imbedding material is completely moistened with the binding agent. A mixture of the imbedding material and the binding agent is put into a function-dependent mold and after light compression and hardening, is present as a filter material in a stable open-porous form. The selection of the imbedding materials varies depending on the application, where different mixture of the imbedding material is obtained and thus the filter material with different composition is obtained.
