<p>Disclosed are a side light-type backlight device with high brightness and excellent light use efficiency, a liquid crystal display device and a television receiver. The disclosed backlight device is provided with a light guide plate, a prescribed side surface of which is a light incident surface, and a light source, which is disposed so as to face the light-incident surface of the light guide plate. The light source comprises multiple side surface LEDs mounted on a substrate, wherein said LEDs are arranged on two levels in the vertical direction of the light-incident surface.</p> |
