PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery capable of attaining high capacity by enlarging an area of a negative electrode, and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In the secondary battery 10, a positive electrode 11 and the negative electrode 12 are arranged through an electrolyte 15, charge and discharge of the secondary battery is performed by exchanging ions of alkaline metal or alkaline earth metal between both electrodes. The negative electrode 12 is formed under conditions that an active material layer including alkaline metal or alkaline earth metal is not formed on a collector 13 at the time of assembling the secondary battery 10, at least one of the positive electrode 11 and the electrolyte 15 contains ions of alkaline metal or alkaline earth metal. Furthermore, alkaline metal or alkaline earth metal is deposited on the collector 13 of the negative electrode at the time of charging. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
