PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of manufacturing an active matrix-type display device, to provide an inexpensive display device, and to provide a low-cost electronic device that uses the display device as a display unit. SOLUTION: For reducing the cost of manufacturing an active matrix type display device, a monoconductive TFT (which is either a p-channel TFT or a n-channel TFT) is used for all TFTs used in a pixel unit, and the same conductive TFTs as in the pixel unit are used to fabricate a drive circuit.
