<p>The method for producing metal rings for cutting a hollow cylindrical workpiece from metal by a laser beam, which is applied by a laser beam source into the metal rings, comprises using a side wall of a holding element, which serves as a cooling device for cooling the cylindrical workpiece into a through hole of the cylindrical workpiece, forming the cylindrical workpiece in a circular shape by shifting of the side wall of the holding element to an inner wall of the through-hole of the cylindrical workpiece to push the inside wall, and cutting the cylindrical workpiece. The method for producing metal rings for cutting a hollow cylindrical workpiece from metal by a laser beam, which is applied by a laser beam source into the metal rings, comprises using a side wall of a holding element, which serves as a cooling device for cooling the cylindrical workpiece into a through hole of the cylindrical workpiece, forming the cylindrical workpiece in a circular shape by shifting of the side wall of the holding element to an inner wall of the through-hole of the cylindrical workpiece to push the inside wall, and cutting the cylindrical workpiece, which is transformed into the circular shape by the laser beam during a coolant is carried out between the side wall of the holding element and the inner wall of the through-hole of the cylindrical workpiece.
