The diaphragm pump has a conveyor chamber with two membranes (2, 2') for separating an upper intake unit and a lower intake unit from a working chamber (13) in a pressure tight manner. The working chamber between the membranes is filled with liquid (3), and a rotor (5) is connected with a drive system i.e. motor, over a rotor shaft (11) in the working chamber. The liquid in the working chamber contains a mixture of water and lubricant, silicone and/or glycerol, and the membranes are limited by inelastic material.
