<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball having high added value such as excellent fragrance or retainability of perfume. <P>SOLUTION: A ball 2 includes an aroma layer 16 containing a perfume component on a surface layer of the ball. The aroma layer 16 is locally formed or the aroma layer 16 may be entirely formed. Preferably, the aroma component is at least one selected from the group consisting of terpenes, ester compounds, aromatic compounds, ether compounds, aldehyde compounds, alcoholic compounds, natural essential oil, hydrocarbon, ketone compounds, lactone compounds and nitrogen containing compounds. Microcapsules containing perfume may be used. Preferably, the local aroma layer 16 is formed by stamping or the aroma layer may be formed by spraying. A fragrance adsorbent may additionally be used.
