Said phosphor storage plate (20) is maintained in the receiving chamber (90, 92, 94, 96, 124) between the cover plate (98) and the base plate (100). The first recess (102) of the cover plate (98) is above the surface of the phosphor storage layer (22) of the received phosphor storage plate (20) when the phosphor storage plate (20) is received.
